This policy explains what information Cue Bookstore at book.heycue.io uses and why. Cue Bookstore is part of Cue, which is operated by Sophon LLC.
You sign in to Cue Bookstore with your Cue account. Your Cue account itself is covered by the Cue Privacy Policy.
Browsing without an account
You can browse the catalog and read and listen to free editions without signing in.
When you search, your search words are sent to our servers to find matching books. Your recent searches and your display theme are kept only in your browser.
Signing in with your Cue account
Sign-in uses your Cue account with Google. Google shares your name, email address, profile photo and a unique account identifier. We do not ask for access to your contacts, files, calendar or other Google data.
After you sign in, we keep an account record with:
- your Cue account identifier, email address and name;
- that you signed in with Google, and when you first and most recently signed in;
- your browser's language setting and its browser and operating system details;
- a random identifier created by your browser.
Your profile photo is shown from Google while you are signed in. We do not keep a copy of it.
While you are signed in, each request includes a short-lived sign-in token, which our servers check to confirm it is you.
Your reading and listening
When you are signed in, we keep with your account:
- the books you save, and when you saved them;
- the book pages you open, when you first and last opened them, and how many times;
- where you left off reading or listening in each book;
- the interests you choose, if you pick any.
We use this to show your library, let you continue where you left off, and order book recommendations for you. We also keep overall counts for each book, such as how many readers saved it. These counts are not linked to you.
Cue membership
Paid editions require an active Cue membership. While you are signed in, our server asks Cue's membership service whether your membership is active, using your sign-in.
The reply from Cue's membership service can include details such as your plan or subscription status. To decide whether you can read and listen to paid editions, Cue Bookstore uses only whether your membership is active, not active or not confirmed, and its end date when there is one. We do not use the other billing details, and we do not save the membership result.
During your visit, your browser keeps your membership status in memory to control access. It is cleared when you sign out or close or reload the page.
Cue Bookstore does not take payments.
Evolve accounts
Cue Bookstore does not import your Evolve account, saved books, history or subscription. They stay with Evolve, and existing Evolve purchases are handled by Evolve.
Where information is kept and who helps us
Cue Bookstore keeps its records in its own Google Cloud project, separate from your Cue account. Our servers run on Google Cloud in the United States.
- Google provides sign-in and hosts our servers, database, book covers, audio and logs. Audio is delivered through links that expire within 15 minutes, and your browser fetches it directly from Google Cloud Storage.
- Cloudflare routes requests for book.heycue.io to our servers.
- Cue's membership service confirms whether your Cue membership is active.
Server logs
Like most websites, our servers record requests to keep Cue Bookstore working and secure. A log entry can include the time, the page or feature requested (which can include search words), the result, your Cue account identifier when you are signed in, and your IP address and browser.
Our main application logs are kept for 30 days. Logs held by our providers for their own security and operations follow those providers' settings. We do not write sign-in tokens to our logs.
Your choices
- Read and listen to free editions without signing in.
- Sign out at any time from Settings.
- Remove a saved book by selecting Saved on the book page.
- Clear this site's data in your browser to remove the information kept on your device. This also signs you out on that browser.

Changes to this policy
If Cue Bookstore changes how it uses information, we will update this page and its date.
